Ours was the first class to have Mr. Castleton as a teacher in Sullivan. He was an interesting and devoted teacher, and mentor.

Tex and I send our condolences to you all. George was our neighbor and teacher; he gave us rides to school, taught us there and gave us many fond memories.

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Castleton was my favorite teacher too. He made learning fun and was always ready with something that made you think. Words of spectacular thoughts. I will not be able to attend but will be there in heart and spirit.

Me and Johnny went to the circus. Johnny got hit with a bowling pin. We got even with that circus we bought tickets and didn't go in.

Ruthie and Grant, I was deeply saddened to read of Mr. C's passing. He was a fine man and a simply incredible teacher. He had an amazing connection with his students. He certainly made school an extremely enjoyable experience. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was unfortunate & didn't have the "pleasure" of being one of Mr. C's students but knew him from living in the same neighborhood (Sunrise Drive) & we would always speak in the hallways @ school. He was a classic. An icon. A "hoot" if I may say. He made such an impression in many many peoples lives. I'm so very sorry to see him go. Sending prayers for comfort & strength to his family during this very difficult time.

We all had our favorite teachers, Mr. "C" was mine. He made school enjoyable and interesting which is not easy. He had a passion for learning and teaching. I was fortunate to know him when I was a kid in Jr. High and later in life when I frequently visited with him at Mason Pt. My condolences to you Grant and Ruthie. Rest in peace Mr. "C".
